1.“AKILLA”

A bomber jacket I constructed, with hand painted image of two posed Black men. Faces were being painted until realizing they didn’t want them, they only needed their eyes.

As envisioned, an all white jacket and there in the back is this transformative 2D sculpture of a painting, so that when going down the mountain, all the people passed will think they’ve seen a portal.

Akira (1988), a prototypical anime film, a cultural sensation and I made the characters Black. A second hand hoodie that I was ready to revive. Hand painted are these two main characters from the film along with little visual treats and MUCH detail.
